I surprised your sudden e-mail. I got several e-mail from my old subordinate after they left OAG.   Actually I could not give you advice so much in OAG.  I had so many work from Japan and I could not share it to my subordinate.

I tried to make great division but I could not complete at that time.

You asked me why OAG fired Cathy,  I could not give you a reason that time. That was not my decision.  I made a plan to handle management by Chinese manager. 

Because I do not have enough skill to handle people. I also understood that I did not understand Chinese people's mind.  I did not try to collect how everyone feel.  You are very right.

By the way, I was thought why you send me a e-mail suddenly, I think you have some turning point to think about your future. You may not find your future in current job.  I do not have correct answer to you today, because I have very little information from you now.

However I can imagine how do you feel. I give some question to you today.

Q1.  What is most important for you  1. happiness,  2. money,  3. promotion, 4. fall in love

Q2.  What is your life goal. You can imagine when you are going to die what will you remember.

Q3  What kind of job do you want to do in your life.  1. Manufacturing Engineer 2. International business man, 3. Does not matter just success and ride a fancy car.

In my case, first 10 years plan was "just marry in 27 years  old, and buy house in 30 years old,  work in North America in 33 years old." second 10 years was "work in China and find my life goal" Then I found my goal. Now I am making third 10 years plan.  I would like to make non profit organization for handy caped people.  I may not open myself,  then I will join them.  This kind of job has no retirement age, then I can help people until die.

If you have a time,  let me know your 10 years plan.

My memory in OAG               

Dear Tahara san,

Wish you are having a great weekend.

It would be a surprise for you to get my E-mail, you shuold remember me, Feng Yunsheng, that boy can not make a good AOI machine for you.

Both of us have left OAG for several months, but every time I recalled the days in OAG, memory floating in my mind, espeacially comparing to the current job I' m doing, the new peoples surrounding me, there are a lot to summarize, and a lot of questions can not find a good answer.

You are my first boss and as a mentor lead my first step into society, you teach us so many and always urge us to set a 10 years plan for the future, you can tolerate us making mistakes again and again,  you would correct our mistakes as long as you have time, you worked harder than any one in OAG, you hope you are setting a  good sample that every one wish to follow. But people hardworking and wisdom like you why can not build a good department he is leading, why people under your leadership can not be stable? are you too self-confidence at the begining, so that you ignore some risk in your team?

You transfered Shui san to manufacture department is the beginning of all, then Liu yinyin can not stand with Yang san and went away, your plan has been disturbed from that time. Maybe you would think this as the misunderstanding of chinese culture, you don't know  how to handle the relationship between chinese. However, something is not in your plan, not every one in OAG admire your way.

No matter what it is, in my mind you are a kind and professional manager with plenty of knowlege and passion I should learn from, I would aways appeciate everything you teach me, although I didn't do too much for you. You said chinese young peoples seldom have a clear goal for the future, it is normal for currenr stage of chinese quickly changing socienty, on one can predict what would happen even one year later, we need to discover the way ourself. People now in China are lack of patient and are hunting quick money everywhere, so I would say China are now lack o lot of engineer who can concentrate on technical job like you once were, I think this also A big difference between China & Japan. I really admire your attitude toward job.

You also said you don't unstand why Asia people work so hard but get so less, and US people are so easy to be so rich, now the finace crisis in US tell the truth. US people are consuming the future amost 50 years later they are not supposed to consume, country like China have to work 24 hours a day to satisfy their non-stop demand. In one word, US is the boss of this world, he is paying with the money printed by himself(dollar), country like China get salary from US, that money is a debt now they can not afford finally.

That is all I want to say to you, maybe a little strange anyway, I don't know whether I am writing with right tone, but I do really hope you feel free to comment on it, if you feel it annoying you, just ignore this letter.
